with God

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God." Mark 10:27

In this passage, Jesus was talking with his disciples and answering their question of "Who can be saved?" After he has just told them in a previous verse that "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

My wife and I have finally started the process of house hunting. It's a process which we are excited to be able to embark on, and at the same time hopeful to find a place that will meet both the needs of our family and the affordability factor. We're not quite sure where it all will end up, but we're trusting the Lord as we search. He has blessed us so much we know that he will not fail us.

Today, I was encouraged by a comment from a lady that myself and some guys from church had the privilege of serving. She needed help moving some stuff around her house, and before we left she shared a little testimony of how she had just about given up hope of being able to get the furniture moved around in her house like she had hoped to... when the very next day God provided a few guys to come and help her move the stuff... She encouraged us to remember that with God "all things are possible."

Such encouraging words for anyone in any season of life. When you are at the end of your rope and can't see how you can accomplish something on your own, just remember that "with God" it's a whole different game.

Lord, thank you that we don't face this life alone. Help us always remember that we can face life with you ... we never have to go it alone.
