focused?

FOCUS.  It is one of those things that is so important in life… Whether its getting a project accomplished, getting in shape, raising kids, staying close to God or just staying on the road when you’re driving… it’s one of those things that we’ve need to have.

Jesus was focused on the mission that he had come to accomplish. In Mark 1:35-39, we are told about how Jesus got up early in the morning before it was even light out and he went and spent time with his Father in heaven.  He was focused… He made it his number one priority to go and meet with the one who had sent him.  And then when everyone was looking for him, he didn’t just go with what everyone wanted, but he stayed focused on the mission.  In Mark 1:38, when everyone had their own desires for what he’d do next, he said, “Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out.”

He had gained popularity and everyone wanted to get close to him, and have him do all kinds of things, but Jesus was focused and would not be distracted from doing the work for which he had come.

I guess the question to consider is: “How’s my focus?”
